Unlocking a User

A user is locked out after 3 failed login attempts.

A user is locked out after a specified number of failed login attempts. The number of attempts allowed depends on your province:

  • 10 login attempts permitted for Alberta, Manitoba, and Ontario pharmacies.

  • 6 login attempts permitted for British Columbia, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland & Labrador, and Prince Edward island.

A locked user can only be unlocked by the ADM or Pharmacy Manager user. The process of unlocking a user involves granting a temporary password which will be used for the next login. The user will be prompted to change their password upon a successful login.

To unlock a user:

  1. Open the Security window using the ADM or Pharmacy Manager user.

  2. Select the user whose account is locked out. A "L" should appear beside their name.

  3. Select Unlock. The Unlock User window opens.

  4. Enter a temporary password in the New Password field. Enter the same password in the Confirm New field. See Password Requirements for guidance.

  5. Select OK.

  6. Select Save.

  7. Select Exit. A prompt reminds you to log out and back in on all computers to apply the changes. Select OK to close the Security window.
