Exporting a Report to a Spreadsheet Application

Reports can be exported to an external spreadsheet software of your choice when the Save as button is available in the Report Preview window. Exporting to a spreadsheet allows you to manipulate reports such as adding new columns, removing columns, changing the sort order, among other functions.

Using a spreadsheet also gives you the flexibility to work remotely. You can move the file to a cloud and work on it from your office or home.

Some reports cannot be exported to a spreadsheet software. These reports are identified by a greyed out Save as button in the Preview window. This includes some of the following reports:

  • Condensed Sales Analysis

An alternative report that can be exported to a spreadsheet software is the Net Sales Analysis report.

  • Compliance Dosett Grid

  • Doctor Mailing Labels

  • Drug Record Book

  • Narcotic Report

  • Patient Mailing Labels

To export a report:

  1. In Propel Rx Reports, generate and preview the report.

  2. Select Save as in the Preview window. The Save as window opens.

  3. From the Save in dropdown, select the location to save the report.

You can save the report to a cloud drive on your computer. Some systems are accessible via a desktop app (i.e. DropBox, Google Drive), while others may be built-in (i.e. OneDrive in the C: drive > Users folder). Choose the location that applies to your cloud storage system.

  4. In the File name field, enter a name for the file.

  5. From the Save as type dropdown, select CSV, Excel, or CSV with Headers.

If these save types are not selected, the report will not display correctly in the spreadsheet software.

  6. Select Save. The Save as window closes.

For information on how to print or modify the report in the spreadsheet software, consult the support documentation for the spreadsheet software directly.
