Opinions

This section is only applicable to Ontario pharmacies.

If a pharmacist identifies a drug therapy problem during a dispense or MedsCheck, a Pharmaceutical Opinion claim may be submitted if requirements are met. For more information on the Pharmaceutical Opinion Program (POP), see the Ontario Drugs Program Reference Manual (section 7.2).

There are two steps to filling an Opinion prescription:

  1. Sending the Opinions Form to the prescriber.

  2. Filling the Opinion prescription after receiving a response from the prescriber.
