Pack Size Updates - Refused Prescriptions
When a pack size has been updated since a prescription was filled, the inventory is automatically adjusted to reflect the change. The original inventory that was filled is returned and an adjustment is automatically done to match the current pack size.
For example, Teva-Latanoprost has a pack size of 3mL prior to a pack size update. After the pack size update, it has a pack size of 2.5mL. A prescription was processed prior to the pack size update for 3mL. After the pack size update, if the prescription is cancelled, the 3mL is returned to the inventory and then an automatic adjustment is made to remove an additional 0.5mL from the inventory to match the current pack size.
The adjustment can be viewed from four locations:
-
In the Shipment Adjustment Details window under Shipment Adjustments.
-
In the Drug Folder History tab.
-
In the Notes tab of the prescription that was refused.
-
In the Manual Adjustment report.
