Methadone Prescription Labels

Select the appropriate tab to learn about methadone prescription labels in your province.

Based on information entered in the Rx Detail Methadone window, the ingestion date and total dosage print on the prescription's vial label and e-File copy. For refills, the e-File copy also indicates the number of mg of the patient's last methadone dose. Two vial labels print for each methadone prescription. One supplementary label prints per vial label.

A new preference has been added to Rx Detail Preferences to suppress the printing of the methadone supplementary label when a methadone Drug Folder is used for billing.

  1. Select > Pharmacy > Rx Detail.

  2. Under the Prescription section, dropdown the Print Methadone Supp. Label to select a setting.

    If Yes is selected, one vial label and one supplementary label is printed for each methadone prescription. The Labels field in Rx Detail is not editable for methadone prescriptions.

  3. Select Save.

The ingestion date and dose prints on the vial label for methadone prescriptions. This applies to both Half and Thermal labels.
