Adding, Removing, or Printing Prescription Attachments
Documents that should be kept on a prescription can be added, removed, or printed from the patient's Profile or Rx Detail.

A document can be added to a prescription in two ways:
Scanning a Document
If you have a physical version of the document, you can scan it by using the Single Scan or Duplex Scan options and using the scanner attached to the computer.
To scan the document from the patient's Profile:

Search for and select the patient.

Select the Profile tab.

Use one of the following options:

If the prescription does not have an attachment yet, highlight the prescription and select Rx > Attachments > Single Scan or Duplex Scan. A validation prompt appears. Select OK.

If the prescription already has an attachment, select the Attachments icon for the prescription. In the Review window, select the Single Scan or Duplex Scan button.
Scroll to the right of the Profile if you cannot see the Attachments column.

The document will be scanned and the image will appear in the Review window. Rotate the image if needed using the left or right rotation buttons.

Select OK.
To scan the document from Rx Detail:

Detail the prescription from the patient's Profile.

In Rx Detail, select the Attachments button . The Review window opens.

Select the Single Scan or Duplex Scan button.

The document will be scanned and the image will appear in the Review window. Rotate the image if needed using the left or right rotation buttons.

Select OK.
Adding a Document
If you have an electronic version of the document saved on your computer, you can add it directly to the prescription.
To add an electronic document:

Search for and select the patient.

Select the Profile tab.

Use one of the following options:

If the prescription does not have an attachment yet, highlight the prescription and select Detail. In Rx Detail, select the Attachments button .

If the prescription already has an attachment, select the Attachments icon for the prescription.
Scroll to the right of the Profile if you cannot see the Attachments column.

The Review window opens. Select the Add Attachment button . The file explorer opens.

Search for and select the document you want attached.

Select Open. The file explorer closes and the attachment is added to the prescription.

Select OK.
Attachments can be removed from a prescription.
To remove an attachment:

Search for and select the patient.

Select the Profile tab.

Use one of the following options:

Select the Attachments icon for the prescription.
Scroll to the right of the Profile if you cannot see the Attachments column.

Highlight the prescription and select Detail. In Rx Detail, select the Attachments button .

The Review window opens. Navigate to the page you want to remove using the left or right navigation buttons.

Select the Remove Attachment button. A confirmation prompt appears.

Select Yes.

Select OK to close the Review window.
Attachments can be printed for a prescription. For PDF attachments, they must be opened in a PDF reader prior to printing.
To print an attachment:

Search for and select the patient.

Select the Profile tab.

Use one of the following options:

Select the Attachments icon for the prescription.
Scroll to the right of the Profile if you cannot see the Attachments column.

Highlight the prescription and select Detail. In Rx Detail, select the Attachments button .

The Review window opens. Navigate to the page you want to print using the left or right navigation buttons.

Select the Print button.
If the attachment is a PDF file, select the Image is not available. Press HERE to open file message to open the file in a PDF reader. Select the print option from the PDF reader.

Select OK to close the Review window.
Attachments can be rotated by detailing the attachment and selecting the image control buttons. The orientation is saved once the image is rotated.
To rotate an attachment:

Search for and select the patient.

Select the Profile tab.

Use one of the following options:

Select the Attachments icon for the prescription.
Scroll to the right of the Profile if you cannot see the Attachments column.

Highlight the prescription and select Detail. In Rx Detail, select the Attachments button .

The Review window opens. Navigate to the page you want to rotate using the left or right navigation buttons.

Select the left or right rotation buttons to rotate the image.

Select OK.
