Refill Reminder
The topics regarding Refill Reminder are intended for independent pharmacies only. This topic is not applicable to Rexall pharmacies.
The Refill Reminder program helps increase patients adherence by reminding them when their prescriptions are due to be refilled.
This program can be set to:
-
Schedule a Refill Reminder activity a specified number of days after the end of a days supply for a prescription as a reminder for your pharmacy to call the patient for a refill.
-
Performs outbound calls to the patient to remind them that their prescription should be refilled. This is only done if your pharmacy has an IVR system and has set this preference.
If your pharmacy is set to perform IVR outbound calling for Refill Reminder and is also set to schedule Refill Reminder activities, the IVR outbound calling takes precedence and no activity is scheduled.
Refill Reminder activities and IVR outbound calls are not completed for the following:
-
Narcotic prescriptions
-
Oral contraceptives
-
Prescriptions for medications with difficult to determine days supplys (e.g., inhalers or creams)
-
Inactive, discontinued or suspended prescriptions
-
Non-retail patients or prescriptions
-
Patients who are deceased, inactive, obsolete or hosptialized
