Enrolling Prescriptions in Auto Refill

An important aspect of Auto Refill is to add new prescriptions to the service, ensuring ongoing increases in program participation and refill volume. An Auto Refill flag in Rx Detail allows you to flag a prescription for Auto Refill at the time of filling. It also allows you to remove a prescription from the Auto Refill service.

The Rx Detail Extended tab contains an Auto Refill checkbox that indicates if a prescription is enrolled in Auto Refill. You may select or deselect this checkbox to add or remove a prescription from Auto Refill.

To edit the Auto Refill flag in Rx Detail:

  1. Process the prescription until it reaches Rx Detail.

  2. Select the Extended tab.

  3. Modify the Auto Refill checkbox located near the bottom. Prescriptions enrolled in Auto Refill have a checkmark in the box; the checkbox is empty for prescriptions that are not enrolled.

  4. Continue to fill the prescription as usual.

Auto Refill Prompting in Rx Detail

Once a patient is enrolled in the Auto Refill program, new prescriptions or refills for chronic DINs that have not been previously enrolled or declined from the program will receive a prompt to enroll the prescriptions in the program.

These prescriptions can be enrolled when filling a new prescription, refilling an existing prescription, or placing a prescription on HOLD.
