Order Grouping
Order Grouping is a method that applies a single reorder point to all products within a Generic Code Number (GCN) group. This allows you to manage the inventory of related drugs together, reducing manual effort and improving ordering accuracy.
A GCN is a standardized identifier issued by First Databank (FDB) that's used in pharmacy and healthcare systems to group together drug products that share the same active ingredient, strength, and dosage form - regardless of brand or manufacturer.
Order Groups are managed within the Order Grouping window in the Drug Folder. From here, you can view and modify the products within the group, view historical data for the entire group, and set the reorder parameters that apply to all products in the group.
