PhotoRxs

Once a patient's BeWell mobile app is linked to Nexxsys, prescriptions can be transmitted electronically to the pharmacy by a patient or a Caregiver registered for a Person in Care for processing through the PhotoRx feature.

Note: Narcotic, Controlled and Targeted substances (NCTs) received through the BeWell mobile app PhotoRx feature cannot be processed without the actual prescription. Contact the patient if NCTs were sent used the PhotoRx feature and inform them that the original prescription must be brought to the pharmacy before the prescription can be processed.

Prescriptions sent via PhotoRx are not eligible for delivery. The patient or agent must come to the pharmacy with the original prescription to pick up.

Workbench Identifiers

When a PhotoRx is received by Nexxsys, it can be tracked and identified in the following ways on the Workbench.

  1. Workbench navigator button - displays the current number of PhotoRxs waiting in the To Do tab to be processed. The number displayed increases when a PhotoRx is received and decreases when a PhotoRx is processed.

  2. Ready Time column - displays the date and time the patient selected for the prescription to be ready in the Be Wellâ„¢ mobile app. PhotoRx's are listed chronologically, with older entries at the top.

  3. Indicator column - displays a camera icon  for PhotoRx's. Selecting the icon opens a preview window to view the image of the prescription.

Rx Detail

When a PhotoRx is opened in Rx Detail, it is important to check if there are special instructions from the patient. These can be viewed in the Alerts section at the bottom of Rx Detail or in the patient's History tab.

Processing a PhotoRx

If the prescription was sent through the BeWell mobile app PhotoRx feature, complete the following steps.

  1. Fill the prescription as per the usual process.

  2. Attach a copy of the prescription and the verification checklist to the prescription.

  3. At pickup, use the verification checklist to validate patient information and use it to verify against the original prescription.
